Romantic architect TED MOSBY (Josh Radnor) returns to the show following the demolition of the Arcadian and being one step closer to his dream of contributing a skyscraper to the New York skyline, as well as his best friend since college, sweet, optimistic MARSHALL ERIKSEN (Jason Segel) and his loving wife LILY ALDRIN (Alyson Hannigan) who found out last season that she was pregnant.
Also returning is Ted's other best friend, BARNEY STINSON (Neil Patrick Harris), a proud bachelor with a penchant for good scotch and expensive suits. Despite his reputation as a notorious womanizer, the show ended last season with the return of Nora and the big revelation that there are wedding bells in Barney's future. But who's the bride?
Meanwhile, ROBIN SCHERBATSKY (Cobie Smulders) struggles for her rekindled feelings for ex-boyfriend Barney as she watches him take a second chance with co-worker Nora and turn into the boyfriend he never was for her.
